Orion Systems Group Awarded Design/Build Contract for Campus-Wide Emergency Communication System

Fairfax, VA, December 31, 2008 - Howard University has selected Orion Systems Group to design and deploy a campus-wide emergency call station system consisting of over 80 new ADA compliant towers with duplex communication.  In addition to enhanced emergency call features, the new system includes a software solution that provides full incident activity, documentation, and incident archival and is integrated with the University’s IP video surveillance platform which was provided by Orion Systems Group as part of an earlier security initiative.

This new initiative represents a continued strengthening of the partnership between Orion Systems Group and the University.  Orion Systems Group has been working with Howard University since 2007 to transition campus security from disparate stand-alone analog systems to an enterprise-class IP based centralized security management architecture that will manage multiple security functions across the entire campus.   The Howard University campus is spread over more than 250 acres and is comprised of over 80 buildings and extensive public space.
