Orion Systems Group Awarded Citywide Maintenance Contract

5-Year Contract Previously Held by ADT

Fairfax, VA, November 1, 2010 - Orion Systems Group has been awarded a multi-year contract to maintain electronic security systems citywide for the District of Columbia. The agreement covers all systems related to electronic security including cameras, access control, IDS, badge printing and perimeter security. In addition, all administrative tasks related to the citywide access control system will be performed by a full-time system administrator supplied by Orion Systems Group as part of the contract.

The contract also awards the migration of two DC owned facilities from their legacy access control platform to a new enterprise class access control system. It is expected that other DC owned facilities will soon follow, creating a unified access control platform across the City administered by Orion Systems Group.

City personnel will use a custom web portal to report and track service requests and will also have access to a 24/7 service reporting line that is linked to the ticketing system. All Orion personnel supporting the contract are equipped with Ipads enabling them to receive trouble tickets via email or create tickets on the fly. Once the trouble is resolved, the technician can close the ticket, have the customer sign directly on the Ipad, and have a copy of the ticket with signature emailed to all interested parties before the technician leaves the facility.

"After a thorough review of our past performance and capabilities, the District saw what many of our clients see - the capabilities of a national integrator without the drawbacks of working with one of the nationals," said Paul Garver, President of Orion Systems Group.
